Study 1 This study represents an audit of the current psychology content of physiotherapy degrees in the United Kingdom.
PURPOSE: Whilst this PhD is specifically concerned with the knowledge and application of sport psychology by physiotherapists working in sport, in was deemed necessary to first gain an understanding of the general psychology knowledge of physiotherapists.
PARTICIPANTS: All universities running physiotherapy programmes and who are listed on either the Health Professionals Council (HPC) or the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP) websites were invited to participate in the study. Participants were interviewed regarding the nature, content and amount of psychology in their physiotherapy programmes. KEY FINDINGS: The data is currently being analysed, therefore there are currently no findings to report.
PUBLICATIONS: lt is intended that the results of this study will be published in an appropriate journal in order to disseminate the information to physiotherapy education providers. Further information on this will be provided here at a later date.
